Continuing education in its many forms provides the opportunity for learning and personal growth to take place throughout your entire life. It has the possibility to light a fire that burns so hot, you are willing to put forth a colossal effort to reach success. If you do not take advantage of your opportunity to continue getting better in your profession, somebody else will benefit from your indiscretion.

Continuing education works best when it is not mandatory but sought out for your own purposes of learning. Whether you read a book, listen to a podcast, talk with a mentor, or attend a class; your growth as a professional within your field is paramount to the people you influence. Adding value to the life of others deepens your personal relationships while promoting a life of humble service to others.

Take advantage of your experiences to alter your future. A lifetime of learning through resources and friendships is a constant for the most successful people throughout the World. Your greatest contribution to life will add meaning to those around you.

Today I get to go on my own continuing education growth journey at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention held in Baltimore, MD. For the next five days I will reconnect with colleagues, learn ideas related to coaching soccer and leadership, and fuel my fire for an amazing 2016. The following weekend my brother and I will be presenting about Long Term Athletic Development at Laxcon 2016. TWO weekends of growth and personal development while being able to provide value for others in the form of presenting. I must be dreaming…

I am extremely thankful for these opportunities in life and look forward to making new friendships and memories over the course of the next two weeks. A humongous thank-you in advance to my wife and family for understanding what this opportunity means to me. I love you all so much!!!
